The premier destination for wine

Peter Jungs European upbringing instilled an early love and appreciation for fine wine. While completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration, Peter worked part-time as a consulting buyer for a local fine wine shop. Soon thereafter, he took a job as wine salesman and later “fine wine”manager for the premier Texas distributor American Wine and Importing Co.

After several years in that role, Peter was offered a position by international wine authority Gerald Asher to manage the west coast region for his new start-up, The Mosswood Wine Company. Based in San Francisco and New York, Mosswood was the fine wine division of McKesson Wine and Spirits Company, which then operated the largest network of wine and spirits distribution companies in America. As Vice-President, National Sales Manager and Director of Fine Wines, he managed a first-rate national sales team with a select portfolio of high-end estate wines and a number of large volume national brands.

When the McKesson parent company divested itself of all of its alcoholic beverage businesses, Peter moved back to San Francisco to be a partner in a new, exclusive wine import and distributing company. He brought many of his top former wine suppliers with him to the portfolio.

In the mid 1990’s, Peter sold his interest in the company and began his own wine industry consultancy. He found himself in great demand for his thorough knowledge of fine wines, for his success in dealing with top producers of Grands Crus Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany, and Piedmont, and for his highly developed skills in managing the administrative and financial aspects of the fine wine business.

In 2012 Peter joined forces with another wine industry veteran, long-time colleague and associate Gary Cowan, to form the wine sales, négociant, cellar management and marketing consulting firm of eWineConnect, LLC.
